You will be part of ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. We are the largest research center within ABB with world class expertise and state-of-the-art resources to support innovation in the areas of both power technology and automation. Our multicultural research center consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries.

The team Electrical Testing & Experiments is a part of the Technology Consulting department, and our main focus is to support other ABB Business Units and Research Areas within Corporate Research in electrical testing.

Within the Technology Consulting department we work as consultants and so will you. Your main customer field is within ABB, but occasionally you will have assignments towards external customers too. Together with your colleagues you will plan, lead and conduct test assignments and resolve our customers’ technical issues. In some cases you will perform investigational work together with the customer. You plan and execute all aspects of the test assignment, including early stage planning, pricing, testing, data analysis, follow-up and reporting, sometimes in team and sometimes individually. This job offers interesting challenges with products currently in use on the market as well as new products and new technologies. Beyond taking part in varying and challenging projects, we will offer you the opportunity to take on a role where you will have a lot of freedom and take own responsibility for your work and the group’s continued development.

Besides being a communicative, flexible and smooth person who likes people, you probably meet all or most of these requirements:

- You hold a Master of Science within the field of electrical power or other relevant field

- You have a couple of years’ work experience

- You are an expert in electrical testing, especially high power (electrical machines and systems, short circuit testing, development testing)

- You are able to understand and manage our complex facility in a safe and creative way

There are also some meritorious competences, of which you might hold one or more:

- Experience from laboratory accreditation

- Experience of LEAN

- Experience of similar work

- Experience from consulting

You are driven and professional in your customer relations and have a highly professional way of managing your projects with a clear focus on time and quality, and you have a natural way of finding ways to increase efficiency and improve methods. You contribute to the business development and have a high integrity when it comes to health and safety.

You approach problems in an analytical manner, systematically identify our customers’ needs and creatively find potential solutions. You enjoy working independently as much as in team and you have strong communicational skills, and are described by other people as constructive, results oriented and genuinely interested in continuous improvements.

You are proficient in English, and it is a plus if you also speak Swedish.
